MANILA, Philippines - A total of 43 European Higher Education Institutions from 12 European countries will participate in the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) on November 15 at InterContinental Hotel in Makati City.

The number of participating institutions in the EHEF has increased in the previous years from 24 in 2012 and 34 in 2013.

During a press briefing, European Union (EU) Political Counsellor Julian Vassallo said that participating institutions in the past EHEFs were satisfied with the enquiries of students who are interested to study abroad. At least 2,000 Filipino students, professors and academics are expected to attend this year's fair.

The main goal of the fair is to show Filipino students the opportunities offered by European universities and be able to get immediate response from the institutions' representatives.

"I believe it is fair to say that no other continent can offer the mix of diversity and quality of higher education establishments that Europe can. Whether it is cutting-edge campuses in the heart of our bustling cities or ancient campuses in magical towns steeped in history, Europe can offer it all to the Filipino student," EU Ambassador Guy Ledoux said.

The EHEF will be open to the public for free from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Goethe-Institut Philippinen, Alliance Francaise de Manille, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, Instituto Dante Alighieri and the Philippine Italian Association will hold language classes for the visitors.
