Air quality fair to unhealthy for sensitive groups in Metro Cebu
CEBU, Philippines — Metro Cebu’s air quality ranged from fair to unhealthy for sensitive groups based on the latest monitoring data from the Environmental Management Bureau Central Visayas (EMB-7) as of 8 a.m. Thursday, August 20.
At the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS)-Talisay Station, PM2.5 levels were classified as unhealthy for sensitive groups, recording a concentration of 39.4 micrograms per cubic meter and an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 122.
PM10 levels at the same station were classified as fair, with a concentration of 56 micrograms per cubic meter and an AQI of 52.
Meanwhile, air quality at the CAAQMS-TVI Station in Toledo City remained good, with PM2.5 levels at 23.6 micrograms per cubic meter and an AQI of 47.
PM10 levels at the TVI station were also classified as good, at a concentration of 31 micrograms per cubic meter and an AQI of 29.
Weather conditions in Metro Cebu as of the monitoring period showed a temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing from the southwest at 2.78 meters per second.
The EMB-7 continues to closely monitor air quality conditions in Metro Cebu and said it will issue further public advisories as necessary. – MRM (CEBU NEWS)
