Sinong binola mo? Naisulat ang mga pahayag ni Manabat na siya daw ang "loaded with work" kaya nagbibitiw siya sa kanyang tungkulin sa kasong ito.

Ganun ba? Ayaw ni former Sandiganbayan Justice Harriet Demetriou ng ganyan!

Gusto n’yong malaman ang totoong pangyayari ang likod ng isyung ito?

Si Prosecutor Manabat ay SINIBAK, TINANGGAL PINALITAN ni Justice Secretary Raul Gonzales sa kaso ng Nida Blanca. Bakit? Dahil ipinarating sa kanya ang balita na ayaw daw imbestigahan si Gen. Galileo Kintanar tungkol sa kasong ito.

His cowardice has no room in this murder case. We want justice to be served for the brutal slay of Ms Nida Blanca. Ang mga taong sangkot sa kasong ito ay dapat managot at maisali sa demanda!

Isang insider sa Department of Justice ang nagsabi kasi na itong si Manabat ay natatakot na baka balikan siya at ang kanyang pamilya kung iimbestigahan si dating Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) Chief.

Bakit naman siya babalikan nitong si Gen. Kintanar? Sigurado akong gusto nga ni Gen. Kintanar na mabigyan siya ng pagkakataong malinis ang kanyang pangalan at minsanan na ring matanggal ang mga ispekulasyon tungkol sa pagkadawit ng kanyang pangalan sa pagkamatay ng premyadong aktres na si Nida Blanca.

Pasensya na Prosecutor Manabat, alam ko ang inside story kasi nandun ako nang magdesisyon si Sec. Gonzales na palitan ka!

Ito kaya ang dahil kung bakit ang mga subpoena para kina Elena dela Paz, Ditas dela Paz and Gen. Kintanar. Ay hindi pa naipapalabas?

Nung Biyernes lamang ipinadala na ang mga subpoena sa tatlong taong ipinapaliwanag kung bakit hindi sila dapat sampahan ng kaukulang demanda sa Nida Blanca murder.

Kung meron ngang katotohanan sa likod ng impormasyon na natatakot itong si Manabat na mag-imbestiga dahil baka mapahamak siya o ang kanyang pamilya, dapat sa kanya magbitiw sa pagiging prosecutor. Trabaho mo yan Prosecutor Manabat. Paano mo magagampanan iyan kung wala kang lakas ng loob?

It is not fair for all of us who are risking their lives and that of their family for truth and justice in this case, gaya ng mga testigo, sina Atty Harriet, Sec. Gonzales, si Kaye Torres tapos natatakot ka lang pala Prosecutor Manabat!

Para na rin sa isang balanseng pamamahayag, nais kong imbitahan si Prosec Manabat na magbigay ng kanyang panig tungkol sa isyung ito.

Dear Mr. Calvento:

This concerns the article that appeared in your column entitled, "Sulat para sa iyo Patricia..." in December 15, 2004. You cited the letter written by Mr. Cyril Ocampo, a Filipino seafarer who worked as a Mess man in the passenger vessel TSS China Sea Discovery for ten months. Mr. Ocampo filed a case against the vessel’s Taiwanese owner, Mr. Gary Lu, for not paying his salary for the ten-month contract.

Verification from records on file with this office discloses the following information:

1. The name Cyril Ocampo does not appear in the Sea based Employment Contract Processing Division database;

2. Per the Adjudication Office, from 2003 up to the present, there was no case filed against Alliance Maritime Support Services, Inc., involving the above vessel and its owner, Mr. Gary Lu, nor was there any case filed by Mr. Ocampo;

3. The Assistance and Welfare Division (AWD) reports that the subject’s complaint was made known to the office through the letter of OFW Rebecca Ruiz who had just arrived from Taiwan for vacation and is allegedly a friend of one of the crew. AWD communicated with MECO, Kaoshiung, Taiwan and the President of Alliance Maritime and endorsed a copy of Ms. Ruiz’s letter to the Worker’s Assistance Division of OWWA on August 14, 2003. Thirty-six (36) Filipino crew members were reported not receiving their salaries for five (5) to Seven (7) months and seriously suffered health problems due to lack of food supply. The SARS outbreak caused the said vessel to dock in Kaoshiung, Taiwan and all operations had been stopped.

4. Immediate investigation and negotiation with the authorities involved resulted to the repatriation of thirty-six (36) crew members from Taiwan, temporary suspension of Alliance Maritime for five (5) months and watch listing of the vessel’s principal China Sea Cruises, Inc. Five (5) of the crew were paid to their full salaries last October 2003 prior to their departure.

With reference to the claim for unpaid salary of Mr. Ocampo, the same should be filed with the National Labor Relations Office (NLRC) pursuant to Republic Act 8042, otherwise known as Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Act 1995.

We hope that the above explanation will clarify the issues raised by Mr. Ocampo in his letter.
