EDITORIAL - Happy Easter!

Easter is a time of great festivity for Christians when Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. However, as Christendom celebrates Christ’s resurrection today, there is a need for us to spend time reflecting why He had to die for our sins.

Many of us have forgotten God’s sole purpose of sending His Son to the world. According to the New Testament of the Holy Scripture, God had so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son.

By sending His Son to the world, He wanted us to believe in Christ as our sole savior in order for us to have everlasting life. But we chose to tread on the wrong path, disregarding God’s promise of eternal salvation.

While we continue embracing the evil ways, God wanted us to repent and be saved. Because of His love for mankind, God won’t let us fall into the trap of the devil.

So Christ had to die on the cross. His blood had redeemed us from our sins. Because of His death we have been given a shot at salvation. But unless we repent and accept Christ as our sole savior, we cannot have redemption.

So, all is not lost for us because we have a chance. Gaining an everlasting life is easy for those who learn to reject wickedness and embrace God. Because He is the only one who can wash away our sins.

In our Easter celebration, we should not forget the sufferings that Christ went through. On the cross, he had to endure the most humiliating experience just to give us a chance to realize God’s great love for mankind. He does not want us to succumb to our evil ways.

We hallowed today as the day Christ has risen from the dead. And because His death and resurrection would mean redemption, we have the obligation to do our part, which is to obey God and follow His law. He promised us the salvation and we must reciprocate it with repentance.

Mankind is blessed that God is out to cleanse the world from wickedness. This is our chance for atonement. Happy Easter!
