PNoy should stop talking with the CPP/NDF/NPA!

Everyone wants transparency, within our families, within our companies, especially so within the government. Transparency is something that we would like everyone to practice so that we can live in a better world. But in the world of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the National Democratic Front (NDF) and the New People’s Army (NPA) they don’t know the meaning of transparency. Yet so many people, including a lot of media personalities are enamored by the communist insurgency as if these terrorists are doing great things for our people and our country.

Yesterday, the headline news of most national newspapers blared that finally, the CPP admitted that Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal died last June 22, 2011 of a heart attack. Ka Rosal was the head of the NPA’s Melito Glor Command in the Southern Luzon and we’ve seen him many times giving interviews to the media. Military intelligence actually revealed that he was suffering from an undisclosed ailment and even offered him medical aid, but the communists denied him a chance to live because they were scared that if the military doctors saved his life, he just might go against the insurgency. So for the NPA, it is better to die a Communist, even though his disease was treatable if he only had access to a proper medical facility.

So when military intelligence came up with a story that Ka Roger had apparently died last year as he no longer surfaced or even held media interviews, this was staunchly denied by the CPP/NDF/NPA. Alas, they could no longer perpetuate their lies and so finally they revealed this truth to the public, purportedly in order to inform his family.

I have more respect for the terror group Al Qaeda of Osama Bin Laden where a few days after his very public killing, Al Qaeda openly declared that indeed America’s Seal Team 6 was able to barge into his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan and shot killed him.

So what does announcement of Ka Roger’s death tell us? That the CPP/NDF/NPA can never be trusted to tell the truth and it is for this reason why I have been writing articles that the Aquino administration is wasting government time and money talking with CPP Chairman Jose Maria “Joma” Sison or Fr. Luis Jalandoni and their ilk because these people are far from being sincere and their main objective is to achieve a “strategic stalemate” with the Philippine government.

Strategic stalemate means that the CPP/NDF/NPA have already achieved parity in their revolutionary war and paves the way for the next stage of their protracted “people’s war” against our democratic form of government so they can claim victory in their struggle for national and social liberation. Since we have a very weak Presidency under Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, III a few weeks ago, the NDF offered some kind of power sharing arrangement with Pres. PNoy. This could only happen because of the presence of pro-communists ideologues working within the hallowed halls of Malacañang.

But in truth, we are far from having a strategic stalemate. In fact the NPA is only strong in areas like Quezon Province, though made weaker now with the death of Ka Roger and areas like Compostela Valley or the Caraga Region in Mindanao. Unfortunately, our Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been weakened by the corruption within the AFP itself, where monies destined for weapons; ordnance and other war materiel are often sold in the black market by corrupt AFP officers. Add to that the big corruption cases that we’ve been reading in the newspapers about Gen. Carlos Garcia and Gen. Jacinto Ligot.

Incidentally, in the year 2008, then Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ordered the AFP to end the Communist insurgency by the year 2010. Alas, the AFP failed in this because of a host of problems plaguing the military. Now, Pres. PNoy is of the belief that the communist insurgency can be solved within his term and it is for this reason that he is sitting down with their representatives and talking peace with them.

But will we really see a genuine peace in this country under Pres. PNoy? I seriously doubt it simply because there is no sincerity on the part of the Communist leadership who think so big of themselves, they even openly justified the recent attacks on three mining companies in Surigao, where Japanese mining executives were taken hostage for a few hours and three security guards were killed. At this point, the only way to neutralize the communist insurgency is for us to remember the Magsaysay doctrine known as the four Fs - Find ‘em, Fool ‘em, Fight ‘em and Finish ‘em - then offer them the hand of peace. This is what PNoy should be doing against the NPA!
