CAUCASIAN. A Caucasian family — father, mother and daughter — was seen lighting some candles at the candles area of the Basilica. The family attracted the attention of local “mananagkots” because after lighting some candles, the three kneeled down and prayed.
BRAZILIAN. The family was Brazilian. The father told some curious locals that Brazilians also believe in lighting candles for religious reasons. But they don’t just light candles and leave. “We pray that the Lord would grant what we wished for as we lighted the candles,” the father said.
