OVERHEARD. Another informer who works in a shipping company said that he heard many passengers going to Mindanao talk about selling their votes. He said weeks before the elections, he would often overhear passengers talking among themselves and through cellphones about how much this mayor or this councilor would be willing to give. He said, “Pirmi ko makadungog ana. Makapanglingo lang ko. Grabe gyud diay. Dili na ko mahibulong nga nag aginud gihapon ta karon. Pwerteng daghanang mga tawo nga ibaligya lang ilang votes.”
MINDANAO. An informer overheard an interesting one-sided conversation at a ticketing office of a shipping company last Friday. This man was with a large group of people. He was heard talking to somebody in Mindanao and making sure that the staff of this politician got their names right. He said, “Siguroha ning among mga pangalan ha. Kinahanglan inig abot namo diha, andam na among bayad ha. Way problema ning akong mga kauban kay siguro mi nga straight mobotar ani nila. Basta siguro lang ang bayad.”
