BONUS GALORE. Many readers expressed their disgust over the blatant display of greed of the government this Christmas season. They said that amid the suffering of the Filipinos because of the financial crisis, politicians and government employees are enjoying ridiculously huge Christmas bonuses. A case in point is the P31,000 bonus given to employees of Congress. Town officials also reportedly appropriated for themselves P45 thousand, P30 thousand and P25 thousand as “cash gifts.”
DISGUSTING GREED. A reader commented, “Ngilgiga gyud ani nila sa? Kung bonus para sa ilang kaugalingon, abtik kaayo maka approve. Ga awas-awas ang kuwarta. Pero para sa serbisyo sa katawhan, walay budget.” Another irked reader said, “Kilatan uroy ni sila. Kabaga sab og nawong aning taga gobyerno. Klaro kaayo ilang kahakog basta Pasko.”
