Traveler says 'abusive' waterfront cabbies must be made to toe the line

WHY, OH, WHY?. A businessman from Misamis Oriental can’t understand why the local (Cebu) authorities (LTO, LTFRB, City Hall, etc.) can’t make the “abusive cabbies” at the waterfront (“pantalan”) toe the line. He said as a frequent travelers between his province and Cebu, he often gets into an argument with taxi drivers in the pier area who choose their passengers and who don’t use their taxi meters when traveling with “innocent” passengers from Mindanao and other Central Visayan provinces. “Kining maong mga abusado taxi drivers dugay nang gireklamo sa mga dayo nga pasahero apan way aksyon nga nahimo ang local authorities,” according to the said businessman.

PACQUIAO WINS. An enterprising t-shirt printer hurriedly silk-screened “PACQUIAO WINS AGAIN” on t-shirts after Manny Pacquiao successfully disposed of David Diaz in their encounter in Las Vegas last Sunday. The t-shirts sold like the proverbial hot cake among Pacman fans coming out of a venue where the Pacquiao-Diaz fight was shown live on television. “Gamay ra akong na-silk screen kay wa ko ka anticipate sa result sa boksing,” the printer said. “Wa sad koy katabang sa shop, ako rang asawa.”
