Gonzalez, 67

MANILA, Philippines - Lyceum of the Philippines University athletics director and longtime sports official Cayetano “Tanny” Gonzalez, 67, died of heart attack yesterday.

Gonzalez was brought to the Sta. Ana Hospital but efforts to revive him proved futile. He passed away at around 10 a.m.

He is survived by wife Wilma, siblings Chito, Ernie, Arthur, Cecille, Guillermo and Galen and children Angela, Raffy, Louie, Rona, Miguel, Maritoni and Patricia.

Before assuming his post at the Lyceum, Gonzalez served as assistant athletic director at the International School and at Brent.

He also served as secretary-general of the Basketball Coaches Association of the Philippines and as consultant of PSC.

His remains lie in state at their home in 2428 Suter St. in Sta. Ana, Manila.
