Romualdez III dies of lung cancer

MANILA, Philippines - Miguel I. Romualdez III, son of Malaya executive editor Enrique P. Romualdez, died Wednesday evening, a victim of lung cancer. He was 59.

He is survived by his wife Ma. Socorro Romualdez, and children Bianca and Jose Maria; parents Enrique P. Romualdez and Dolores I. Romualdez; siblings and in-laws Enrique Jr. and Ellen; Antonio and Lorna; Eduardo and Wilhelmina; Ramon and Jeanette, and Ma. Socorro and Randy Abellar.

The body lies in state at the St. Alphonse di Liugori mortuary chapels in Magallanes Village, Makati City.

Interment is scheduled on Sunday at the Loyola Memorial Park in Parañaque after a 9 a.m. Mass.

Mike, as he was fondly called, worked for the National Food Authority. He retired in 1987 to set up a car rental business.
