Ciso Bernardo, ex-Olympian, 71

Olympian Narciso “Ciso” Bernardo passed away Tuesday. He was 71.

Bernardo, a member of the RP team in the 1960 Rome Olympics and the 1972 Munich Games, had been bedridden since 2002 when the cager suffered a stroke.

Bernardo, who also served as councilor of Mandaluyong City, would be interred Saturday.

The former NU King Bulldog received several honors for being one of the top scorers during the Manila Industrial Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA) days.

He coached the Crispa Redmanizers in their last PBA championship in 1984. He later served as technical official in the pro league.
