MANILA, Philippines - Recipients of letters would feel the warmth of the holiday season even before they open the envelope, with the release of the Philippine Postal Corp. (PhilPost)’s new Christmas stamps.
“It would be personalized or more personal if you send Christmas cards with Christmas-designed stamps. With the letters, you are able to convey your love to the person or to your loved ones, as compared to greetings sent via the Internet such as Facebook and electronic mail,” said PhilPost Philatelic Division chief Elenita San Diego.
PhilPost’s “Pasko 2011” Christmas stamps come in four designs: Christmas bells, poinsettias, Christmas gifts (cards, candy cane, teddy bear, wrapped boxes), and Christmas lantern.
San Diego said the stamps, which were released on Nov. 25, would be sold at P7 each. Printer APO Production Unit released a total of 105,000 pieces.
The stamps measure 30mm x 40mm and are printed on imported unwatermarked paper.
