Nasa larawan si Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte kasama si City Health Department Chief Dr. Ramona Asuncion Abarquez na nakipagpulong sa mga opisyal ng Barangay matapos namang magdeklara ang pamahalaang lungsod ng dengue outbreak. Hanggang nitong Pebrero 14, 2025 nasa 10 katao na ang nasawi sa dengue sa lungsod, mayorya dito ay mga menor-de-edad.

MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ni Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte na 90 porsiyento ang ibinaba ng kaso ng dengue mula Pebrero hanggang Abril.

Ayon kay Belmonte, nasa 123 barangay na anya ang cleared na sa dengue outbreak status.

Sa tala ng City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (CESD) ng Quezon City Health Department, nasa 626 na kaso ng dengue ang naitala mula Pebrero 16 hanggang 22 at bumaba sa 64 na kaso na lamang mula Abril 2 hanggang 8.

“This continued decrease in dengue cases is very encouraging, but it is not a reason for us to be complacent.The changing climate—especially the unexpected rains during summer—means that water can easily accumulate in uncovered containers, creating breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes.”ani Mayor Belmonte.

Nasa 19 barangays naman ang nananatili sa epidemic threshold.

Dagdag pa ng alkalde, tuloy ang paglilinis ng lokal na pamahalaan sa mga lugar na pinamumugaran ng lamok, fogging at spraying, at larviciding.

“While we have already scaled down our interventions in barangays under low alert, we must continue to keep our communities clean and vigilant—especially when it comes to the health of our children,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

Hinihikayat ni Belmonte ang QCitizens na panatilihing malinis ang kapaligiran para makaiwas sa sakit na dengue.
