Marcos inaugurates Sulu Hall of Justice

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — President Marcos has committed to make judicial services more accessible to every Filipino as he and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo inaugurated and turned over the Sulu Hall of Justice in Patikul town yesterday.
Marcos assured residents that Sulu would not be left behind in the delivery of government services.
He said the new hall of justice would address longstanding challenges in the delivery of justice, which had been hampered by limited facilities.
“Justice must be accessible to every Filipino, so that our institutions must uphold the rule of law, protect people’s rights and bring the government closer to those that it serves,” Marcos said.
The President cited the government’s efforts in improving access to justice including legal assistance programs, digitalization of court processes and making judicial services more efficient.
Meanwhile, Gesmundo urged judges and court personnel to uphold integrity, independence and fairness.
“The worth of a hall of justice lies not on its physical structure but in the quality of justice it gives to the people,” Gesmundo said.
He thanked the provincial government and Sulu Rep. Samier Tan for helping realize a vision laid out during a groundbreaking ceremony in September.
The provincial government donated 68,810 square meters of land for the construction of the Sulu Hall of Justice.
