PhilHealth: P7.44 billion paid to YAKAP clinics

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has reported the payment of P7.44 billion for the claims of clinics under PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan program or YAKAP.
According to Philhealth, the amount represents 98.37 percent of the total claims, as of Oct. 7, paid under YAKAP.
PhilHealth paid P5.52 billion to government YAKAP clinics and P1.92 billion for the private clinics.
Launched in July 2025, the program is a national primary care benefit package offering free, comprehensive outpatient services such as consultations, laboratory tests and cancer screening, including mammography, colonoscopy, health education and counseling.
PhilHealth urged the public to register and avail of the program’s benefits. A valid government-issued ID and a filled-out form are required for registration.
Aside from YAKAP, Philhealth paid P1.57 billion under the Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment or GAMOT program, which provides members with up to P20,000 worth of free outpatient medicines annually, without needing hospital confinement.
