Bulacan LGU suspends work, classes

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan, Philippines — Work and classes here are suspended beginning today until Wednesday due to water service interruptions.

The city information office said the suspension order was based on a local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommendation over the shutdown of water supply in the city as the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System performs maintenance works on several MWSS pipelines.

Celso Cruz, Guiguinto Water District chief, said several areas in the province would also experience low to no water supply from Oct. 13 to 14 due to the pipeline works of the MWSS aqueducts development.

Cruz advised residents in affected areas to stock and save water.
