2 dead in Luzon road mishaps

MANILA, Philippines — Two people died while five others were injured in three vehicular accidents involving motorcycles in Luzon over the weekend.
The fatalities were men aged 25 and 65, whose motorcycles collided with a tricycle and a van in Pangasinan and Ilocos Norte, respectively.
The 25-year-old fatality was traveling in Barangay Dalanguiring in Urbiztondo town when his motorcycle crashed into a tricycle before dawn yesterday.
The victim’s backrider, and the driver and passenger of the tricycle were brought to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
Meanwhile, the 65-year-old fatality reportedly tried to overtake, causing his motorcycle to crash into a van along the Manila North Road in Barangay Tabug, Batac City on Friday.
Probers said the victim might be drunk.
In Bulacan, two senior citizens were injured when their tricycle collided with a motorcycle in Barangay Abangan Norte, Marilao.
The victims, aged 62 and 72 , were rushed to the Joni Villanueva Hospital in Bocaue town for treatment of injuries.
Police arrested the motorcycle driver.
