Torre extends leave until October 15

MANILA, Philippines — Metropolitan Manila Development Authority general manager Nicolas Torre III has extended his leave until Oct. 15, MMDA Chairman Romando Artes announced yesterday.
Artes said Torres’ mother-in-law died recently.
“He’s attending to it. That’s why he’s extending for another week. He will be back by Oct. 16,” Artes told reporters.
Artes said Torre remains active in the activities of the MMDA.
“Even if he’s on leave, GM Torre is still working. In the background, he is helping us,” Artes said.
Torre had filed for a one-month leave after being flagged for vehicle misuse on the EDSA busway.
He also expressed his desire to retire from public service.
