Kim Chiu’s sis out on bail

MANILA, Philippines — The sister of actress Kim Chiu was released from jail on Thursday after posting bail for 124 counts of qualified theft.

Supt. Jayrex Joseph Bustinera, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology spokesman, said Lakambini Chiu was released from the Quezon City Female Dormitory at 5:32 p.m.

Bustinera said Chiu posted bail in connection with the cases filed by her sister, which stemmed from alleged financial discrepancies in their business.

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 84 recommended bail of P5.8 million for Lakambini’s temporary liberty.

Lakambini was arrested along Saint Francis Street in Barangay Wack-Wack on Sunday, after the Quezon City prosecutor’s office found sufficient grounds to charge her with 124 counts of qualified theft involving over P44.3 million.
