Magnitude 5.2 quake jolts Sarangani

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake, which was an aftershock of a powerful temblor that jolted Sarangani two months ago, rocked the province and nearby areas on Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 7:01 a.m., with its epicenter located 24 kilometers southwest of Balut Island.
The temblor was felt at Intensity 3 in Davao Occidental, General Santos City and Kiamba in Sarangani.
Intensity 2 was recorded in Maasim and Maitum in Sarangani, Tupi and Tampakan in South Cotabato, and Palimbang in Sultan Kudarat.
Intensity 1 was felt in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
The temblor was an aftershock of the magnitude 7.8 quake that occurred in Sarangani in June.
