MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted Quezon province on Wednesday night, with intensities felt in Metro Manila, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 10:11 p.m., with its epicenter located 90 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town.

State seismologists said the temblor, which was tectonic in origin, was not expected to cause damage to property, although it may generate aftershocks.

The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Jomalig, and Capalonga and Jose Panganiban in Camarines Norte as well as in Quezon City.

Intensity 2 was felt in Guinayangan in Quezon, and Basud, Labo, Mercedes and Paracale in Camarines Norte as well as in Malabon and Pasig.

Intensity 1 was felt in Mandaluyong and Taguig.
