Rain or Shine trades Mamuyac to Phoenix

MANILA, Philippines — Gian Mamuyac is headed to the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
Rain or Shine dealt the two-way guard for a future first round pick, the PBA announced on Thursday.
Mamuyac will now be part of the Fuel Masters, along with the second round selection of Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 53 draft.
Phoenix sent Rain or Shine their own first round pick in the same draft class.
Mamuyac had 12 points, six rebounds and six assists in the Elasto Painters’ 131-108 defeat against the Blackwater Bossing on Saturday. It was his final game in a Rain or Shine jersey.
Now, he will be joining a Phoenix squad holding a 2-0 record in the PBA Governors’ Cup. He will be part of a loaded team that has a deep roster of capable wings in Kenneth Tuffin, Kai Ballungay and Ricci Rivero.
Reports have said that Mamuyac has been receiving offers to play overseas, and it was one of the question marks for Rain or Shine heading to the conference.
