Bossing rout Painters for rousing PBA Governors' Cup start

MANILA, Philippines -- The Blackwater Bossing ushered in their PBA Governors’ Cup campaign with a massive 131-108 victory over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters Saturday evening at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.
A few months after absorbing a 56-point defeat against Rain or Shine in the Commissioner's Cup, the Bossing had their revenge on the Elasto Painters in a statement win.

The Bossing waxed hot right from the get-go, holding a 15 point lead in the first quarter, 23-8, after a layup by Barkley.
This put Rain or Shine at an uphill battle the rest of the way, and while the squad was able to slice the deficit to single digit, 31-38, in the second quarter, the Bossing continued to roll.
The Elasto Painters trailed by 13, 56-69, late in the second frame before Blackwater dropped bombs through the second half.
A massive 22-4 run capped by shots by Ilagan broke the game wide open, 91-60, and it was enough of a deficit to breeze through to the finish line, with the lead ballooning to as much as 34 points.
Dalph Panopio added 19 points off the bench for Balckwater. James Una and Abu Tratter added 12 and 11 markers, respectively, for the winning team, who shot a scalding 50-of-102 from the field, including 12-of-37 from the 3-point line.
