MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is encouraging overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families to participate in a two-day summit in Quezon City.

The Migrant Workers Health Summit, which will offer free health services and wellness program, will be held from June 30 to July 1 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center.

The summit is being organized by the DMW in partnership with the Department of Health, OFW Hospital, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and other government agencies.

Among the services available are hypertension, diabetes and nutrition assessments, cancer screening, tuberculosis and HIV testing, eye and dental services, vaccination for children as well as massage and haircut.

Representatives from the Philippine Red Cross, Phillipine Health Insurance Corp. and Social Security System will also provide assistance.

Medical experts will conduct discussions on health issues affecting OFWs and their families.

The summit carries the theme, “Bayan, Bayani, Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan,” highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen health and welfare support for OFWs.

The DMW said the summit aims to bring government health services closer to migrant workers while promoting disease prevention and overall wellness.
