MANILA, Philippines — After failing for the third time to comply with a subpoena in connection with the deaths of two Ateneo de Manila University cagers, resigned ADMU men’s basketball head coach Tab Baldwin is expected to appear today at the National Bureau of Investigation.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag said Baldwin is scheduled to face investigators at 2 p.m.
Baldwin was a no-show yesterday at the NBI-Homicide Division.
The NBI is investigating the drowning of rookie player Rene Baterbonia and Nigerian Divine Adili during a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora on June 8.
Baldwin was initially summoned last week, but his lawyer, Karl David, said the coach was “not in good condition.”
Baldwin’s appearance was rescheduled to June 19, but he again failed to show up as he attended a separate probe by the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Lawyers representing members of the Ateneo basketball program attended yesterday’s hearing.
