Another school stabbing reported in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — Another incident of stabbing was reported in a school in Cavite on Friday, leaving a senior high school student wounded, according to authorities.
The attack, which reportedly occurred at the Cavite National High School in Cavite City, alarmed education officials.
The Schools Division Office of Cavite said it is coordinating with concerned school officials for the conduct of a thorough investigation into the incident.
Initial reports said the students were about to go home at around 4:30 p.m. when a quarrel broke out between the victim and the suspect.
The victim suffered five stab wounds and was rushed to the nearby Bautista Hospital for treatment. He was transferred to the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila for further treatment.
Responding police officers arrested the suspect, whose identity was withheld.
The Department of Education directed the Schools Division Office to provide psychosocial support and counseling services to students and their families affected by the incident.
