BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Military Academy formally welcomed 367 incoming cadets of the PMA Class 2030 during the oath-taking and reception rites on Saturday in Borromeo Field at Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar here.

The new batch is composed of 290 male and 77 female cadets who were received by second class cadet squad leaders from the PMA’s “Siklab Kasilag” Class of 2028, marking their transition into the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines New Cadet Battalion.

The PMA said the cadets emerged from a highly competitive selection process.

Of 33,640 applicants nationwide, only 1,436 passed the PMA entrance examination and advanced screening, with just 367 ultimately admitted.

The Cordillera region produced the highest number of successful applicants at 12 percent, followed by the National Capital Region and Region IV-A at 11 percent each.

Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia, PMA superintendent, said the academy continues to strengthen its curriculum to address evolving security challenges, including training in cybersecurity, systems thinking, international defense and strategic leadership.
