63,000 pass licensure exam for teachers

MANILA, Philippines — More than 63,000 examinees passed the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), the Professional Regulation Commission announced on Tuesday.

The PRC said 18,376 elementary teachers out of 32,796 examinees, or 56.03 percent, passed the licensure examination administered on March 15 in 41 testing centers nationwide.

For the secondary level, 45,001 out of 61,561 examinees, or 73.10 percent, passed the examination.

The PRC said among the elementary teacher passers, 15,670 were first-time takers while 2,706 were repeaters.

For the secondary level, 39,446 passers were first-time examinees and 5,555 were repeaters.

The Board for Professional Teachers is headed by chairperson Rosita Navarro, with Paz Lucido as vice chairperson and Paraluman Giron as member.
