BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — An Army soldier and a militiaman were killed in an attack by two motorcycle-riding men in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Cpl. Robert Dador, 48, assistant detachment commander, and Johnery Moncatar, 26, of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit Active Auxiliary, were headed to Sitio Kalubihan in Barangay Makiling when they were killed.

First Lt. Fevie Fajardo, civil-military operations officer of the Army’s 79th Infantry Battalion, said the killing may be related to the Army’s anti-insurgency operation.

Fajardo said the assailants did not take the belongings of the fatalities.
