MANILA, Philippines —  Work at the first and second level courts in the cities of Mandaue and Cebu is suspended until tomorrow in line with the holding of the 48th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit and Related Meetings, the Supreme Court announced yesterday.

The SC posted online memorandum orders issued by Judicial Region 7 court manager Michelle Ann Villhermosa-Gacutno declaring the work suspension starting at noon of May 6 until May 8.

The suspension is pursuant to Proclamation 1239 issued by the Office of the President declaring May 6 to 8 as special non-working holidays in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue as well as in the municipality of Cordova.

“The courts have assigned staff members to act on urgent requests for bail, orders of release, writs of habeas corpus and similar urgent reliefs,” the SC said.
