Bong Go pushes fire preparedness, emergency support systems

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go underscored the need for stronger fire preparedness and accessible emergency support systems during a visit to families affected by a fire in Barangay Bagong Ilog, Pasig on Thursday.
Go urged the public to follow safety reminders from the Bureau of Fire Protection, particularly on avoiding illegal electrical connections and practicing caution while cooking, as he stressed the need for clean, safe and comfortable evacuation centers to prevent illness among displaced families, especially children.
Held at the Bagong Ilog Elementary School pavillion, 152 fire-affected families received relief assistance, including grocery packs, water gallons, snacks, shirts, pens, vitamins and balls for basketball and volleyball, along with financial aid to support their immediate recovery.
During his visit, Go was accompanied by Vice Mayor Richard Vincent Jude Jaworski and Councilors Ryan Enriquez, Eric Gonzales, Boyie Raymundo as well as Barangay Bagong Ilog chairman Ferdinand Avis and other officials.
