Technician nabbed over bomb joke

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY , Philippines — A 28-year-old air-conditioning technician was arrested for making a bomb joke in a shopping mall in this city on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect was about to enter the mall in Barangay 31 when a female security guard stopped and asked him about the contents of his backpack.

The suspect reportedly said he was carrying a bomb, prompting the guard to call the police.

The suspect told police he was just joking, but he was brought to the police station for investigation.
