DPWH fast-tracking Manila’s P43 million drainage project

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon inspects a drainage rehabilitation project along Bonifacio Drive in Manila yesterday, which is seen to ease flooding along Burgos Avenue and Roxas Boulevard.

MANILA, Philippines — A drainage rehabilitation project along Bonifacio Drive in Manila amounting to P42.9 million is set for completion before June, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways.

During an inspection yesterday, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said they are prioritizing the project to address flooding in the area during heavy rainfall.

“President Marcos has instructed that all drainage expansion projects should be finished before the rainy season begins,” Dizon said.

The project, which started in May 2025, includes upgrading pipes to improve water flow toward Manila Bay. Andrew Ronquillo
