PDP marks Duterte’s birthday with 81 cakes
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Members of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) based in this city will celebrate today the 81st birthday of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
To make the event special, the party prepared 81 cakes symbolizing the age of Duterte, who is currently detained in The Hague, the Netherlands over supposed crimes against humanity.
During the event, PDP members and supporters of Duterte are expected to give messages of support for the former president.
The celebration will feature musical performances by local artists and the internationally recognized earth musician, Waway Saway.
Highlight of the celebration is the ceremonial slicing of the 81 cakes, which will be distributed to people at the eent.
Party members are also expected to express continued support for the presidential bid of Vice President Sara Duterte in 2028.
A similar celebration will be held in Davao City, to be led by the Vice President and Mayor Sebastian Duterte.
