MANILA, Philippines — The national government joined the Muslim community in celebrating Eid’l Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan with a renewed call for unity, faith and peace.

Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo Jr. conveyed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s message of solidarity with the Bangsamoro and all Muslim communities nationwide.

In a news release, Lagdameo highlighted the resilience and devotion of the Muslim Ummah, stressing that their discipline and sacrifice during Ramadan serve as an inspiration for all Filipinos.

“Eid’l Fitr reminds us that beyond our differences, we are one nation guided by faith, respect, and a shared vision for peace; may the spirit of Ramadan strengthen our unity and commitment to uplift every Filipino,” he said.

He also called on communities to continue working together in promoting peace, development, and mutual respect, especially in areas striving for long-term stability.

In an earlier message, Marcos has emphasized the importance of compassion, discipline and spiritual reflection, noting that the lessons of Ramadan should guide Filipinos in building a more inclusive and harmonious nation.

The president underscored that Eid’l Fitr is not only a celebration but also a reminder of shared responsibility in fostering understanding among different cultures and faiths across the country.

The celebration of Eid’l Fitr, one of the most significant holidays in Islam, symbolizes gratitude, generosity, and renewed devotion, as Muslims around the world mark the end of a month-long period of fasting, prayer and reflection. (Contributed story)
