2 Chinese nabbed for smuggled cigarettes in Pangasinan

LABRADOR, Pangasinan , Philippines — Two Chinese men were arrested at a checkpoint here for possession of more than P8 million worth of smuggled cigarettes on Wednesday.

Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., acting Philippine National Police chief, said 101 boxes with 5,050 reams of smuggled cigarettes were found inside the delivery van the two were using.

“This is a clear example of how disciplined police work protects the public and our economy,” Nartatez said in a statement.  Emmanuel Tupas
