Boat capsizes off Southern Leyte; 11 rescued

TACLOBAN CITY , Philippines — A motorized boat with 11 people on board including the vessel’s crewmembers capsized in the waters off Limasawa, Southern Leyte yesterday.
Responding members of the Philippine Coast Guard and the Limasawa police as well as barangay officials rescued the passengers and crewmembers at around 8:30 a.m. near the coast of Barangay San Agustin.
Reports said that strong winds and big waves battered the boat until the vessel capsized at past 7 a.m.
Authorities said the passengers included tourists from Pampanga and Bulacan.
No one was reported injured or killed in the incident.
