P54.4 million shabu seized in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P54.4 million was seized in an anti-narcotics operation in Naga, Cebu on Tuesday night.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that four suspects – identified only as Barbara, Clifford, Joseph and Maricel – yielded eight kilos of shabu during a sting in Barangay Tuyan.
PDEA-Central Visayas chief Joel Plaza said the arresting team also seized from the suspects seven cellphones, identification cards and the marked money.
On the same day, another stash of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.49 million was seized in Iloilo City.
The illegal substance was recovered from two drug suspects in Barangay Lanit, Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, Western Visayas police director, said.
The suspects were detained at the city police detention cell as charges were prepared against them.
