PNP launches metrowide search for missing bride-to-be

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) units in Metro Manila and adjacent provinces have joined efforts to locate a missing bride-to-be from Quezon City.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. yesterday directed police to validate all information gathered about Sherra de Juan, who went missing four days before her scheduled wedding to her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, on Dec. 14.
Nartatez ordered a police special investigation team to pursue all angles, including the possibility of foul play, to resolve De Juan’s disappearance.
“I have tasked the Quezon City Police District to exhaust all measures to solve this case. All our units in Metro Manila and nearby areas were alerted and directed to assist,” Nartatez said.
A P20,000 reward was offered for any information that would lead to De Juan’s whereabouts.
She was last seen in front of a gasoline station in Barangay North Fairview on Dec. 10.
De Juan was wearing a black jacket, black pants and a shirt, based on closed-circuit television footage.
Prior to her disappearance, De Juan texted Reyes that she would go to a mall in Fairview to buy shoes.
She could not be contacted as she left her cell phone at the house.
Nartatez assured Reyes and De Juan’s family that authorities would exert all effort to find her.
The PNP chief urged people with knowledge about De Juan’s whereabouts to come forward, saying all information would be treated with confidentiality.
“We assure the public that we will determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance,” Nartatez said.
