40 Malaysian doctors join humanitarian mission in Basilan

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Philippines — At least 40 Malaysian doctors and medical staff joined Sunday the ongoing social and humanitarian mission in Malamawi Island.

Gov. Mujiv Hataman said the mission is special this year because of the presence of Malaysian health professionals led by Dr. Suha Zeli bin Abdullah of the non-profit group Periubuhan Amal Perubatan IbnuSina Malaysia.

“This initiative reflects people-centered governance, bringing services directly to communities and ensuring they are felt by everyone,” Hataman said.
