DOH warns public vs buying medicines online

MANILA, Philippines — Amid the proliferation of counterfeit medications, the Department of Health (DOH) cautioned the public against buying medicines and vaccines sold online or in unauthorized facilities.
The DOH said consumers must be extra careful in buying pharmaceutical products, especially with the proliferation of fake medicines.
According to the agency, the public should not buy pharmaceutical products with errors on the label, with unfamiliar packaging, or lacking the Food and Drug Administration or FDA batch and lot numbers as well as manufacturing and expiration dates.
“Do not purchase from unlicensed sellers or facilities,” the DOH warned.
