DILG: Cassie Ong last tracked in Fujian

MANILA, Philippines — Cassandra Li Ong, who is wanted for qualified human trafficking, was last tracked in China, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced yesterday.
Citing reliable sources, Remulla said Ong went to China, particularly in Fujian.
Since there are no official records from the Bureau of Immigration, Remulla said Ong might have left the country through the backdoor.
“Based on our last information, she had returned to China,” Remulla told dzMM.
Malacañang earlier said that Ong, who has a bounty of P1 million for her arrest, is in the Philippines.
While it is possible that Ong reentered the country, Remulla said the information remains unconfirmed.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 118 in Angeles, Pampanga has issued warrants for the arrest of Ong and former presidential spokesman Harry Roque for qualified human trafficking in connection with the alleged scam hub operated by Lucky South 99.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has intensified the manhunt for Ong and her other co-accused.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. ordered the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to double its efforts in arresting not only Ong, but also all the other defendants in the case.
