MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific (CEB)’s flight operations are back to normal after completing the Airbus software update.

About 78 flights had been canceled or delayed as Airbus A-320 and A-321 aircraft needed to be fixed.

Solar flares that could corrupt data and affect flight controls led to the worldwide disruption, according to the European aerospace firm.

Passengers who want to postpone their Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 flights can avail themselves of free rebooking and conversion to travel fund, the PAL and CEB managements said.

These options can be accessed through the “manage booking” portal on the PAL and CEB website, up to two hours before the scheduled departure time.
