Pinay killed in Japan road mishap

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Relatives of a Filipina agriculturist who died in a road accident in Tokyo, Japan last Monday are asking the government to help transport her remains to her hometown in Libungan, Cotabato.
Parents and siblings of Gladys Grace Testado said she was run over by a car, which also hit a van in Adachi City.
Aside from Testado, a Japanese man was killed while nine others were injured in the incident.
Through the Facebook messenger, Filipinos in Tokyo told Testado’s family that the car was stolen from a vehicle showroom in Umejima district.
The driver of the car tried to escape, but he was arrested by pursuing police officers.
The family said Testado went to Japan to study Nihongo in preparation for her plan to work in Tokyo.
Testado’s sister, Geneva, said the victim died at the intensive care unit of a hospital in Tokyo on Tuesday.
“We want her back home. We want her buried in our hometown,” Geneva said.
She said her parents wanted her sister’s brought home in Barangay Batiocan.
