Man nabbed for taking family hostage

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines — A man was arrested after he took hostage his former partner and their two daughters in Tiaong, Quezon on Wednesday.

Investigation showed that the suspect, identified only as Felix, went to the house of his partner in Barangay Quipot to ask her and their daughters to return to him.

The woman reportedly refused, prompting the suspect to take her and the children hostage, according to Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police director.

Responding police officers negotiated with the suspect, who asked for a tricycle in exchange for the release of the hostages.

Police granted the request of the suspect, who fled on board the tricycle.

The suspect was arrested in a blockade set up by authorities.
