PhilHealth affirms dengue coverage

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos experiencing dengue symptoms should seek medical consultation and not worry about costs, according to the Philippine Health Insurance Corp.

The PhilHealth benefit package for dengue fever amounts to P19,500 and P47,000 for severe dengue.

Dengue cases are projected to rise following the recent onslaught of Typhoons Tino and Uwan.

Over 14,000 dengue cases have been recorded from Oct. 12 to 25 by the Department of Health.

“With the risks associated with dengue, don’t think twice in seeking medical treatment,” the state health insurer said.
