San Juan families get prefabricated homes
MANILA, Philippines — The San Juan City government turned over yesterday 110 prefabricated homes to families displaced by the April 2024 fire in Barangay Batis, providing them with rent-free shelter while a housing project is underway.
Mayor Francis Zamora led the turnover ceremony at the Makabagong San Juan staging area. He was joined by Social Housing Finance Corp. president Federico Laxa and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Assistant Secretary Mel Aradanas.
Each 15-square-meter unit is equipped with toilet and bath as well as a kitchen provision.
Beneficiaries need to shoulder water and electricity consumption costs.
The families will stay in the staging area until the completion of a 34-story building under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program in Barangay Batis.
