6 bones recovered in Taal Lake

MANILA, Philippines — Six suspected human bones were recovered in Taal Lake in Batangas on Monday as the search for the missing sabungeros or cockfight enthusiasts continued.

The Philippine National Police said the bones, which were recovered along with pieces of clothing and a cloth sack, have been turned over to the PNP scene of the crime office for analysis.

The search for the missing sabungeros started after whistleblower Julie Patidongan revealed that the cockfight enthusiasts were killed and their bodies were dumped in the lake.

The Department of Justice earlier reported that up to 887 human bones had been recovered from the lake as of Oct. 12.
