Teduray students get relief supplies

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Tribal Teduray schoolchildren in Central Mindanao provinces received relief supplies from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao government over the weekend.
The items include slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, bath soap, biscuits and fruit juices, which were distributed as part of the National Indigenous People’s Day celebration.
In a statement, the Women’s Organization of Rajah Mamalu Descendants or WORMD said students from several schools in South Upi, Maguindanao del Norte and Cotabato Central Pilot Elementary School in Cotabato City were among the recipients of the project.
“We are thankful to the regional officials who made marginalized Teduray school children feel that the Moro regional government is also focusing its attention on their plight,” WORMD director Aileen Kesa Marie Hualde said yesterday.
